How to Get Rid of Acne, Dark Spots, and Scars.
What is Niacinamide?
You’ve probably seen niacinamide somewhere in your skincare products. It’s a big word that sounds pretty complex, but it’s actually really simple. Niacinamide is just a fancy term for vitamin B3–a water-soluble vitamin found in foods like yeast, meat, fish, milk, eggs and green vegetables. So basically, it’s the vitamins you get from eating your veggies!
Why Should You Be Using It?
Niacinamide is one of the most effective skincare ingredients out there (and it’s not just us saying that). Here are some of its benefits: It can help reduce acne breakouts and even out your skin tone. It helps reduce pigmentation and dark spots! It can even help to minimize pores by reducing oil production. Over time, it can make your skin look plumper and more hydrated by boosting collagen production.
Niacinamide is a form of vitamin B3 that your skin needs to retain moisture and protect itself from environmental stressors. Niacinamide is an antioxidant, which means it protects cells from damage by free radicals, and it works with other antioxidants to prevent aging caused by oxidative stress. Niacinamide also improves the skin’s natural healing process, which helps to reduce acne breakouts.
In addition to its anti-aging and anti-acne benefits, niacinamide has been shown to help with hyperpigmentation. A study published in Clinical Interventions in Aging found that using a 4% niacinamide gel for 12 weeks “significantly reduced” hyperpigmentation, visible pores, fine lines, and wrinkles compared to the placebo group. This research supports other studies that have found niacinamide to be effective at reducing hyperpigmentation, age spots, blotchiness, and redness.
And of course we had to include niacinamide when formulating our booty serum.
