Acne on your chest can be frustrating, especially during the summertime when you want to show a little skin. If you're wondering how to get rid of chest acne, here are some tips to clear away pimples and prevent cystic breakouts from coming back.
Chest acne is actually quite common — it's essentially another version of hormonal acne (usually caused by stress). On top of that, dead skin cells can accumulate on our chests and build up under our clothes, which also causes breakouts.
The good news is that there are some simple ways to get rid of your chest acne for good!
Clean your sheets weekly
Wash your sheets in hot water at least once a week to kill bacteria.
Don't wear tight clothing
This was my main issue when I had chest acne. I wore sports bras from working out. You don't realize that your chest is sweating all day long underneath your bra and that this is the cause of your acne.
Don't pick at your chest acne
I know, I know, this is so hard to resist! Let's be honest here, it's a little bit satisfying. But picking will make the situation worse, and you'll end up with a scar or a dark spot in its place. The best thing to do is to let your body do what it needs to do on its own, which is heal itself.
Exfoliate your chest daily with a gentle exfoliant
Use an exfoliating scrub 2-3 times per week to help remove dead skin cells and excess oil from your skin.
Use a clay mask on your chest to draw out excess oil and impurities
A clay mask will deep clean your pores and remove any acne causing oil or bacteria.
